100 Things About Me

I did this a few years back and decided it was about time to make some changes and post it at my new home!

For those of you that knew me before the Bossy Yankee you might remember this.

I did not post this past week life has been a bit in an upheaval. There are still times that I struggle with being 27 and divorced. Very few and far between but sometimes it still really effects me. I know I made the right decision but it is still hard. So I decided I would repost the 100 things about me, becauswe I have come so far from the first time I posted this.

100 things you want to know about me!

1. I am # 4 out of 5 children.

2. I lived in the same house my entire life until I got married, then moved to the third house I have ever lived in after my divorce, and I am currently living in my fourth house.

3. My favorite color is Pink, growing up it was always Purple.

4. I eat ketchup with mac & chesse, eggs, chili, & lots more

5. I am allergic to Peas, Peanuts, Soy, Milk, Strawberries, Tomatoes, Oats, Wheat, Rye, & Eggs, but I don’t follow it like I should. My body has learned to tolerate most of these foods but I have some GI issues when I eat them! Not enough to not eat them though!

6. I own 5 7 cameras. Only 1 is digital. I yearn to own a Nikon D70. 3 4 are digital, I just got the Nikon D70S 300!

7. I am going to school to finish my bachelors but ultimately I want to stay home, have lots of babies, & be the perfect wife and mother while running my photography business.

8. I cant make a decision for the life of me. I cant decide what to order when we go out & when I finally decide I second guess myself and am not satisfied with what I got, I am a freak I know it! It is amazing what one can do when they leave an oppressive relationship. I have no problems making decisions.

9. I am extremely organized almost to a fault. I believe in the saying a place for everything and everything in its place. When things are organized there is a certain calmness about it.

10. I love to cook but hate to clean up.

11. I love Sex & The City and want nothing more than to do the naughty with Mr. Big.

12. I hate to exercise but know it is what I need to do to lose weight and reach my goal of being me again.

13. I have 3 best friends, none of them are friends with eachother, but they all know eachother. I have been friends with them all 9 + years. Currently one of them I am not seeing eye to eye with but she is still my friend and I am sure someday we will find our friendship again.

14. I hooked up the whole internet wireless set up in my house all by myself.

15. I can not wait to spend 6 months traveling around the world when I finish college.

16. I watch Greys Anatomy even though I wasn’t going to. I did not want to watch another show about hospitals. It is so not realistic but Patrick Dempsey melts my heart! I totally heart him!

17. I hate reality TV, such as AI (gasp I know), survivor, danny bonadusch bag, etc.

18. I want to drive a Land Rover & BMW 7 Series someday!

19. I want to live in a mini mansion small cozy house and decorate my house full of Pottery Barn comfortable furnishings!

20. I love Pottery Barn but would never pay that much for things so I find knock offs of things I see there.

21. I love my family more than anything and am so grateful to have the family I do. My mom is the heart and soul of our family and she rocks! I could not have asked for a better mother.

22. My mom is the only woman to make it to 50 in her family so we had a huge blowout that year. It was the year I graduated from High School. Her mother died at 49 and her sister died at 40. My mom has buried more people in her life than anyone should ever have to. She is the strongest person I know. I hope I can be as wonderful as she is someday! She will be 60 in July of 2009 and we will be celebrating in France.

23. I went to Private School for a few years and hated it and ended back at public school where I graduated from.

24. I have only had two three serious boyfriends and I married one of them.

25. I was married by the time I was 21 and will be divorced by the time I was 26!

26. My ex asked my dad if he could marry me on a Saturday and the following Friday my dad died. He died on a business trip in Tennessee!

27. I am so my dad it is freaky. I look like him and act like him! I even work at his old corporation.

28. I am one determined soul and I will be extremely successful one day.

29. I wish my house was cleaner than it is but hey there is only so much time in a day and life is too short. At least that is what I keep telling myself.

30. I would love to have 6 or 8 kids and I have a feeling I will have multiples someday. I have no idea why but I just have that feeling.

31. I surround myself with family and friends!

32. I hate cereal and always have. Might be the fact I am lactose intollerant and drank goats milk growing up. Blech is what I think of goats milk. I love dry cereal no milk.

33. My brother used to have to babysit us when my mom would teach aerobics on tuesday and thursday nights. He used to drop us off at a restaurant called the Gypsy Rose and tell us it was the orphanage. He would actually leave us there crying. Obviously before we could all read. I hate that restaurant and would never eat there. Another thing he would do on those nights was my mom would leave him money to feed us dinner and he would take us to the Trappe Tavern (a Bar) because it was 10 cent wings and he would drink while we ate and then pocket the rest of the money. He also only ordered one pizza and it was pineapple and canadian bacon. We ate it because it was that or nothing. I actually love that pizza now! My mom is shocked when we share these stories with her and so is his wife! Suprisingly he is a great dad now!

34. My brother is an off again on again herion addict and he is only 23! My brother is a recovering heroin addict.

35. My one brother is gay and always has been!

36. My sister and I are 10 years apart and we just recently started to get along. We are complete opposites. Complete!

37. I got my first car at 16 it was a VW Cabrio and my second car at 20 it was a Nissan Pathfinder. They were both brand new and bought by my dad! I just bought my third car a year ago in November. It is a 2008 Saturn Vue. I love it.

38. We spent 6 weeks in Florida the summer before I was in 6th grade at a Scientology location called Flag. Because my parents are Scientologists! Well they have been many religions but were scientologists at one point!

39. I am not a scientologist but I am also not against it. I feel it is like any religion there is good and bad! No they are not all freaks like Tom Cruise! I have noticed though that in every religion there are freaks like Tom! I also met John Travolta that summer we lived there.

40. I sleep in lots and lots of clothing even in the summer!

41. I love me some thongs they definitely make you feel sexy!

42. I have a 3 year old boxer named Kao. I love him to pieces. I am not a big dog person so this comes as a total shock. I adopted him about 6 months ago.

43. I would like nothing more than to spend a month in Fiji, staying in a villa.

44. If money wasn’t an issue I would travel the world meeting all the fellow bloggers I have formed a relationship with. I spent 5 weeks in the summer of 2007 visiting friends and family. Lots of them from blogging.

45. I would love to learn how to knit, my mom tried to teach me but I just cant get the hang of it. I will get the hang of it and someday I will knit things all the time.

46. I want to own a house at the beach and have my family and friends come all the time and stay!

47. My favorite season is Fall. I love the weather change. The leaves change and I just love everything about it!

48. I am named after my mother’s mother and my father’s mother

49. I love going back to Kansas and visiting family we always have such a great time!

50. I walked sixty miles in September of 2005 in Philadelphia for Breast Cancer. I walked in memory of my aunt jacki on the 9th anniversary of her death!

51. I love to give gifts, I like nothing more than to see people smile because I give them something.

52. I love the Chicken Marsala at Bucca Di Beppo, it is so sweet and fabulous. I have not found it anywhere else that compares.

53.Most of the furniture in my house is antique, most of it is hand me downs from my grandparents.

54. I hate to paint. It is the biggest pain in the ass, taping and touching up and painting. Ick!

55. I can fix a toilet!

56. I installed my own garbage disposal.

57. I hate to grocery shop, but I love to look in my fridge and see it full of yummy healthy food. Just haven’t figured a way to skip right to the full fridge that would be fabulous!

58. I start home improvement projects but am known for stopping mid project!

59. My dad owned race horses when we were growing up. One of them almost went to the Kentucky Derby.

60. My favorite memory of my dad is when I was about seven years old. My dad wanted to let my mom sleep in so he took the three of us little kids out to breakfast. When we returned to the house several hours later, my mom had asked us where we had been, why we were still in our pajamas, why our hair hadn’t been brushed and what were we thinking, wearing sandals with our winter jackets. We told her that we had gone to see the horses work out. We didn’t realize that my mom would be upset that Dad had taken us to breakfast at the track. She didn’t seem as excited as we were that we had each won $50 by betting on the horses – we thought we were rich. After breakfast that day, my dad took us to the toy store and let us get anything we wanted. I still remember my brother Jeff got a Barbie Doll because I had one. When mom asked him why we weren’t dressed, he said he didn’t realize that we were in our Pajamas. When she asked why he bought Jeff a Barbie, dad said he was sure Jeff wanted one because he liked her body (he was 6 years old).

61. My dad taught me how to pick a horse. I could pick a horse before I could really read and I was good at it. I still am good at it. So if you need someone to go to the Track with just let me know.

62. We spent our summers at the Jersey shore and then we put a pool in and didn’t get to spend the whole summer there anymore. My mom sold the house we grew up in with the pool and now we spend 3 weeks every summer at the beach. The summer of 2009 will be spent on a beach in France. As my sister and her family are living in North Africa for two years.

63. My brother started college when I went to Kindergarten.

64. I love spicy food.

65. My favorite childhood memory with my Aunt Jacki was when she used to take us to Zern’s. She would buy us whatever we wanted!

66. I am currently finishing my bachelors. I have one more semester left.

67. When I got married my reception was at the same place my parents had gotten married at 25 years earlier.

68. If I won the lottery I would share it with everyone I know.

69. I listen to quite an eclectic mix of music anything from Johnny Cash to Jimmy Buffett to 50 cent

70. In high school Devon and I went to a Backstreet Boys Concert. We were the only ones there without parents. We were 17 and the entire concert was a flashback to Junior High! We still had a blast.

71. I have seen DMB in concert 3 times. I am so not into concerts I just went for the social aspect! Except of course the Backstreet Boys that was lots of fun!

72. I love to receive email I check it constantly throughout the day.

73. I plan to run my first marathon this next spring someday.

74. I love my nephew Lucas more than anything in the world. He lived at my mom’s from the time he was 3 months until 10 months while his dad was overseas and I saw him everyday. He lives in VA Africa now and I see him about every six weeks months but it is not the same. I love that baby more than anything and he is going to be 2 3 5 in December.

75. My Uncle Tom gave me away at my wedding because my dad was not able to. He isn’t really my Uncle he is my mom’s best friend’s husband but he is definitely my second dad!

76. My love of oldies music came from Uncle Tom.

77. I always wanted to be a photographer for National Geographic and travel the world. Maybe someday!

78. I wear lots of Red Pink and Brown!

79. My favorite thing to sleep in is my electric blue fleece reindeer pants.

80. I hope to have the same 3 friends when we are 100. I hope that we all still have as much fun as we do today.

81. I got my ears pierced for my fourth birthday. It was a gift from my aunt jacki, my mom didn’t really want me to get it done and the reason following is why. Because I only got one ear done because I screamed and cried. I had to go back a few weeks later to get the other ear done.

82. I hate surprises. If you want to ruin my day throw me a surprise party, shower, etc. I know how ungrateful does that sound! My dad hated surprises as well see that is where we are more and more alike.

83. My sisters best friend taught me how to drive before I was 16. She was so much cooler than my sister. She is still really cool. She is my other sister. I have known her since I was 2 years old and she has always been a part of my family.

84. I am a huge worrier over useless things (ex. fire in the fireplace, leaving the stove on, forgetting to shut off water, etc) Amazing what happiness can do to you. I am no longer stressed and worried over useless things I can not control.

85. I used to have to get waxed every week and so I am saving money by currently getting laser treatment for my hair removal! Umm not so attractive woman with facial hair so I am handling it!

86. I went on a cruise with my moms entire side of the family. It was over Thanksgiving my senior year and I was drunk the entire time on Bahama Mama’s it sucked so bad. We went on the worst cruise ever. My sister was my chaperon, ha, she was drunk worse than I was! Then we spent 5 days in Disney afterwards!

87. There is nothing better than a cold Kettle One and Tonic with a slice of Lime and a good conversation.

88. I love my Reef Flip Flops I wear them all year long!

89. When I like a shirt I buy it in every color possible!

90. I Bleach things like no ones business because Bleach is the true smell of clean. Read my post about going green! I use bleach very rarely now.

91. My favorite flowers are Tulips! Especially Pink Ones! Serious Boyfriend # 1 sent me 18 pink tulips for my 18th birthday in February at least the cheap ass spent some money! Oh wait he wasn’t cheap! Ha

92. I am addicted to my laptop!

93. I plan to one day drive clear across the country stopping at as many sites as possible and visiting people along the way. I drove all the way to Vegas and then headed back home. I was on the road a total of 5 weeks and wanted to get back for family vacation. I will drive the west coast one day.

94. I want to name my first daughter Indigo! I love that name! I always have a dream that when I have kids I will have twins first. If that is the case the other girl will be Tallulah.

95. I loved driving down the high way in my cabrio listening to good music, with the roof down, the windows up and the Air conditioning on! As I said I am a freak!

96. I only ever once did a keg stand!

97. I will one day attend the Olympics! Attend not participate!

98. My favorite superhero is Wonder Woman

99. I love butterflies!!!

100. There are so many things on this list that have changed since the first time I wrote it. Four years ago I was married and living a totally different life. I am so much happier today. It was a long bumpy road to get here, but it was totally worth it.
